Koijärveltä on pitkä matka Olkiluotoon

Tapahtui Suomessa vihreiden ollessa hallituksessa:

Suomeen rakennetaan maailman suurinta ydinvoimaa tavalla, joka on täynnä skandaaleja. Turvallisuus ja valvonta vaikuttavat olevan täysin retuperällä Areva-yhtiössä, joka Olkiluotoon voimalaa rakentaa.

Joskus historian muinaishämärässä ydinvoima, tai pikemminkin sen vastustaminen, oli vihreän liikkeen tärkein asiakysymys, sen identiteetti suorastaan. Jo aiemmin Suomen vihreät ovat todenneet, ettei heitä hetkauta, vaikka hallitus päättää vielä tällä vaalikaudella uusien ydinvoimaloiden rakentamisesta.

Tämä ei ole herättänyt sanottavammin hämmästystä, koska vihreitä ei ole yleensäkään tapana vetää vastuuseen mistään.

Nyt kaksi vihreää ministeriä istuu hiljaa kuin tatti, myös silloin, kun rakenteilla oleva ydinvoimala syntyy sutena.

Keskiviikkona keskeiset ympäristöjärjestöt vaativat Olkiluodon ydinvoimalan rakentamisen keskeyttämistä jatkuvien laadun, valvonnan ja turvallisuuskulttuurin puutteiden vuoksi.

Hallituksen ekomerkki, sen ministerit ja kansanedustajat ovat sen sijaan hiljaa. Nuorina vihreät olisivat jo Olkiluodossa osoittamassa mieltään. Nyt veteraaneina on mukavampaa muistella Koijärven kultaista kansalaisaktivismia parlamentin lämmössä virkamiesten passattavana.

Sitäkään ei kummastele kukaan, että vihreä työministeri on kadottanut pitkäaikaistyöttömiä koskevat tilastot (KU 7.5.).

Jos näki kohta lähtevän työministeri Tarja Cronbergin haastattelun tiistaina Ajankohtaisessa kakkosessa, niin tuli vakuutetuksi, että nämä työttömien asiat eivät varsinaisesti kuulu vihreiden ydinosaamiseen.

– Tällä hetkellä työttömyys ei ole vielä riistäytynyt käsistä eikä ole vaikea, sanoi ministeri.

Äsken julkistetun maaliskuun työllisyyskatsauksen mukaan työttömiä on nyt 251 400. Vuodessa työttömiä tuli yli 50 000 lisää. Yli vuoden yhtäjaksoisesti työttömänä olleita on 40 000, yli kaksi vuotta 16 800.

Heille tiedoksi ministerin lohduttavat sanat: työttömyys ei ole vaikea.

Puoli miljoonaa suomalaista vaimoa huokaisi syvään kuultuaan Suomen hävinneen jääkiekossa USA:lle. Ukkoa ei saa tänäkään vuonna vaatekauppaan. Se rakas vuoden 1995 MM-paita sai taas vuoden jatkoajan.
